The gas turbine generator of the 1,263 MW combined cycle power plant under the Pakistan Jhang project was successfully connected to the grid for the first time. The unit operates smoothly and the parameters meet the requirements of the design and operation procedures, laying a solid foundation for the 168-hour trial operation. The project is contracted by Sinomach subsidiary China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC).

It is a key livelihood project in Pakistan, and also the first 8000H-class gas turbine power project undertaken by CMEC as general contractor. It adopts the mode of “two gas turbines driving one steam turbine,” with a total installed capacity of 1,263 MW. The electricity generated by the project can meet the power demands of nearly 4 million local households, promoting local economic development and improving people's living standards.
