Sinomach builds roads, solar plants for BRI participants

The Belt and Road Initiative is filling a great need for infrastructure in Asia, Africa and other places around the world. Sinomach, one of China's centrally-administered State-owned enterprises, has seized the opportunities from high-quality Belt and Road cooperation thanks to its large-scale advantages in service and integration of the new growth pattern.

CAMCE helps boost links between cities in Nepal

Sinomach subsidiary China CAMC Engineering Co Ltd (CAMCE) has cooperated with the Nepalese army to build section 5 of the Kathmandu-Terai-Madhesh Expressway (Fast Track) Road, with the help of another specialized Chinese engineering company, Shandong Luqiao Group Co Ltd.

The expressway is a mega highway project with strategic significance and has been prioritized as a "national pride project". Also known as a fast track, it is under construction and when completed will connect Kathmandu and Nijgadh in the southern Terai region of Nepal.

The road is 72.5 kilometers long, of which 55.5 kilometers are normal sections, 10.59 kilometers consist of tunnels and 6.41 kilometers are bridges.

CAMCE is tasked with building a tow-way four-lane highway and designing and building three twin bridges and a flyover.

The completion of the project will bring convenient transportation to the regions and numerous beneficiaries along the route, thus promoting their economic exchanges with the outside world. It will also pave the way for the long-term development of CAMCE in the Nepalese market.

CMEC helps UAE build world's largest single site solar plant

China's Belt and Road Initiative is highly compatible with the vision of the United Arab Emirates to revitalize the Silk Road. The two sides have worked together to further promote bilateral relations, pragmatic cooperation, and regional and international issues of common interest, and jointly laid out a blueprint for the China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era.

As high-quality BRI cooperation thrives Sinomach has been making more efforts to develop the UAE market, especially in the renewable energy sector. China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), a subsidiary of Sinomach, has completed the No 1 main transformer for the Al Dhafra solar power plant in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, which marks a new milestone in the completion of the project.

Located in the middle of the desert, the plant should enable the country to accelerate its transitional development of ecologically-sound infrastructure.

As a global landmark project in renewable energy, the Al Dhafra PV2 solar project will become the world's largest single site photovoltaic plant. It is expected to be commercially operational by this year.

It will generate enough electricity to sustain power for up to 160,000 homes across the UAE, and reduce Abu Dhabi's CO2 emissions by more than 2.4 million metric tons per year, equivalent to taking 470,000 cars off the roads.
